Game Life, Chaos and Mathematics

Some think that we are to the doors of a physical theory unified that it is able to explain everything what we see. It is possible, but we must remember that to have one it formulates that summarizes everything does not mean that we pruned to include/understand it or to predict its behavior in detail.

An example is you formulate them that they determine the attraction between two bodies, like the Earth and the Sun. They are simple and they are known from the time of Newton but they continue creating problems. For example, we are not able to predict the future behavior of three bodies. This problem is indecisive in the general case and single we have partial solutions to simplified cases. In the rest, to make long simulations is only form to predict the future.

All this it I have remembered by an annotation of our companions of
Applesfera having commented the appearance of another program to simulate the Game of the Life of Conway, in Windows, Linux or But OS. This it is a deceptively simple game. A board of squares that represent “cells”. A cell is born if it has three alive squares to his around and continues living if it around has 2 or 3 alive squares to his, dying on the contrary. To repeat these steps they can create peculiar sequences. In the image you have a design based on the Cat
of Cheshire
that disappears leaving its smile single

But these so simple rules allow to imitate the behavior of any algorítmico computer by complex that is. And they generate and incredible visual forms able attractive to grow and to be multiplied. These forms receive names like Pistols, Gliders, Locomotives or Rakes. Single we are able to include/understand simplest and to predict the board behavior, very very great escapes to our capacity. The chaos starting off of simple and simple rules.
